MS MAYBE???

I WAS JUST OLD LAST WEEK BY MY DR. THAT I MAY HAVE MS.......IM GOING TO GO SEE A NEURO DR FOR SOME TESTS. WHAT KIND OF TESTS ARE THERE?AND I SEEM TO HAVE ALOT OF THE SYMPTOMS....
PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks so much for your comment,I also have had 13 rotator cuff surgeries in the past 6 years...So I have a pain pump in me I had this put in March of 2009......Wont this be affected by the MRIs?

Welcome Debbie,
    Take a breath. I felt like I had been hit by a bus the first time a Doctor said MS. You might not even have MS so try not to worry. Easier said than done.My PCP sent me to a neurologist and I did not even know what a neurologist did. First off they should take a thorough history. Then do a neurological exam reflexes, following the finger with your eyes. May be sticking you lightly with a pin to see how you react. May be have you walk down a hall way. Pulling and pushing on arms and legs. May be standing with your eyes close. This actually tells the doctors a lot.

    If he finds something they send you for an MRI. They may do blood work to rule out other illnesses. It may take awhile to get a diagnosis it may not. There are a couple of other tests.
