MS symptoms

Hello everyone! Im 26 yr old female recently had a baby. a few weeks after I had my baby i started feeling tingling on the left side of my face, along with my toes on the right side. They thought the facial tingling was from an abcessed tooth but i had it removed 2 months ago and tingling is still there. at the same time my right eye felt "funny" i cant describe it well almost feels like its straining or like glares bother it. anyway, I had a bunch of eye tests done and the eye doctor said it was not optic neuritis or any other MS related reason. well the symptoms almost completely subsided for about two weeks. Then the other day the tingling came back, almost worse. Now im truly concerned I have MS. however, i dont have weakness or clumsiness along with the tingling. just super annoying tingles. I becoming very depressed because I should be focusing on my new baby but im over consumed with ideas of having MS. I'm hoping its not, and I feel terrible for anyone who lives with it day to day. so even though MS is different for everyone, are these typical findings? having relapses only 2 weeks apart?? im very confused and would love any insight

thank you guys so much. your time and compassion means soo much :) I am so sorry that you guys suffer with this disease :( and jepster, you are right. im focusing on the small percent of severe progressive forms. I cant help but picture being unable to care for my daughter. even though most people with MS lead pretty normal lives. I will continue on with my MD she wants to do an MRI in a few weeks but wants me to try PT first. My right leg is getting worse, all day it felt like my foot was "floppy" and i had all these weird tingles im praying its just some spinal changes after having a baby. either way, no matter what the outcome i'm glad there is a place like this with so many great people willing to help!

Hey,

I agree with macaroni - go see your doctor and tell him / her everything that's been going on, including how all of these weird symptoms are making you feel and how you're worried that you're not able to concetrate on your baby because of them. For me sharing everything with a doctor makes me feel that bit better in myself anyway - I guess I feel I've transferred the responsibility onto someone else to figure out what's going on :)

With  regard to MS then yeah, there are so many different types. There are of course the stories you hear in the news, often about people with the most severe progressive forms. The less aggressive forms account for something like 85% of people with MS, many of whom carry on with normal life alongside the MS rather than it becoming the all consuming part of life.

Take care,

Jep

It probably wouldn't hurt to have an MRI, but be prepared for it not to show anything!  One of my first symptoms was a tingling/buzzing chin and cheek.

Hello! Welcome and Congratulations on the new baby!

I don't know if what you are experiencing is related to MS or not, but it certainly doesn't help to worry your self silly about something that may or may not be something for you to be scared about.

So the first thing you should do is see your regular doctor, explain to them what is going on and let them check you out.

My first MS experience was my entire right side from the waist to my neck going partially numb. I ignored it for two weeks thinking it was a pinched nerve or something that would just go away, and when it didn't I called a doctor.

When I called they told me that they weren't seeing any new patients, but what is the problem? When I told them that my entire right side was numb they saw me that day. Lol!

Then they ran some tests and referred me to the neurologist that I currently have. Anyway, the thing is it would be easy for someone to try to guess what maybe going on with you but it wouldn't be very accurate.

Take care of yourself and let us know how the doctor appointment goes ;)
