is it common for MRI's to show nothing with MS or do you think i most likely dont have MS?
thank you guys so much. your time and compassion means soo much :) I am so sorry that you guys suffer with this disease :( and jepster, you are right. im focusing on the small percent of severe progressive forms. I cant help but picture being unable to care for my daughter. even though most people with MS lead pretty normal lives. I will continue on with my MD she wants to do an MRI in a few weeks but wants me to try PT first. My right leg is getting worse, all day it felt like my foot was "floppy" and i had all these weird tingles im praying its just some spinal changes after having a baby. either way, no matter what the outcome i'm glad there is a place like this with so many great people willing to help!
Hey,
I agree with macaroni - go see your doctor and tell him / her everything that's been going on, including how all of these weird symptoms are making you feel and how you're worried that you're not able to concetrate on your baby because of them. For me sharing everything with a doctor makes me feel that bit better in myself anyway - I guess I feel I've transferred the responsibility onto someone else to figure out what's going on :)
With regard to MS then yeah, there are so many different types. There are of course the stories you hear in the news, often about people with the most severe progressive forms. The less aggressive forms account for something like 85% of people with MS, many of whom carry on with normal life alongside the MS rather than it becoming the all consuming part of life.
Take care,
Jep
It probably wouldn't hurt to have an MRI, but be prepared for it not to show anything! One of my first symptoms was a tingling/buzzing chin and cheek.
Hello! Welcome and Congratulations on the new baby!
I don't know if what you are experiencing is related to MS or not, but it certainly doesn't help to worry your self silly about something that may or may not be something for you to be scared about.
So the first thing you should do is see your regular doctor, explain to them what is going on and let them check you out.
My first MS experience was my entire right side from the waist to my neck going partially numb. I ignored it for two weeks thinking it was a pinched nerve or something that would just go away, and when it didn't I called a doctor.
When I called they told me that they weren't seeing any new patients, but what is the problem? When I told them that my entire right side was numb they saw me that day. Lol!
Then they ran some tests and referred me to the neurologist that I currently have. Anyway, the thing is it would be easy for someone to try to guess what maybe going on with you but it wouldn't be very accurate.
Take care of yourself and let us know how the doctor appointment goes ;)
