MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

I GOT A NEW MS DOCTOR, AND SHE SAID I DON'T HAVE MS. I WAS DIAGNOSE 2009. SAID I HAD MS A LONG TIME. THEY LOOKED BACK AT ALL MY MEDICAL RECORDS. I WAS PARALIZED IN 1999 IN LEFT LEG, TOOK 18 MONTHS TO BE ABLE TO WALK A LITTLE. ABOUT A YEAR LATER I GOT PARALIZED IN RIGHT LEG IT TOOK A SHORTER TIME FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO WALK AGAIN. I HAD BELL PALSY IN 2000. IN MY FACE. THEY PUT ME ON CAPAXONE INJECTIONS. THE NEW DOCTOR TOOK ME OFF OF MEDICINE. I HAVE BEE SO NERVOUS ABOUT ALL THIS. I'M NOW AN OLDER PERSON.  WHAT COULD I HAVE IF NOT MS? I FELT CAPAXONE HELPED ME. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I agree with everyone else get rid of the new Neuro & see someone else who is an MS specialist. I actually can't believe this new Neuro took you off your Capaxone & yet has not told you what they think is causing your problems.

I'm so sorry you are being put through all of this. Can you go back to the previous Neuro & ask for their opinion? It is not unusual for people to be misdiagnosed as their are so many conditions that mimic MS symptoms. Is this new Neuro running further tests & trying to find out what they feel is causing your symptoms?

Keep us updated & ask any questions you may have.

Take Care,

Karry.

I agree with Alex.  Try and find one who specializes in MS, that's what I had to do.

I would find a new doctor unless she has a good answer for what you have.

Hi Shirl - Welcome to our group.

I'm sorry you are getting such conflicting messages. What was the data that lead to your diagnosis? Why does the new doc not think you have MS?
