Me, too

Not to be outdone, (you know how middle children are) I should start  my IVSM tomorrow with home health. I had an appointment with my magical pain doc and he agreed it was wise to head off my relapse at the pass. Right now it's mostly fuzzy eyesight, fatigue and leg pain.

We set up my ketamine to be once a month for the next 6 months. It can be altered of needed during that time. For those of you who were asking about the Sphenopalitine block, Dr. Shaw knew of the Cleveland Clinic Pain Center but did not know anyone specifically at the center.

To Clarify.. the  spheopalatine  blocks are done for face pain and they use Marcaine on the
Q-tips inserted into the nasal cavity.

The ketamine is given IV . Yes, it dilates your eyes, yes it is a hallucinogenic which is why you get Valium before hand to help counter act that. You wake up disoriented but it wears off fast (roughly 2 hours depending on the person and dose).

I used an infusion clinic the first time and it was nasty.  so neuro ordered home health to come.  We shall see what tomorrow brings.

I wish I could do my IVSM at home!  I've only had one set because I was recently diagnosed, You can say it was an early Christmas present.

My doctor asks me to come up to a infusion clinic which is an hour and a half away. Last time my mother drove me which is pretty scary and a big enough stress.

They use the Ketamine in the Sphenopalitine block? and it lasts for a month? I haven't any very painful episodes yet but in case I ever do, I'm curious.
We use Ketamine for anesthesia in cats at work and it dialates their eyes and I think they halucinate or cant see very well while waking up. Do you experience anything like that?
