My neuro just called....!

My Dr. just called to tell me that the narcolepsy panel and the rest of the blood work came back "normal"   She said this points to MS but my brain lesions are not that (something?) severe, so I have to have a thoracic MRI (for some reason that was never done) and a LP.  After that, if no definate dx can be made, I will have VEP and legs EP.  Now I gotta read up on those.  My left eye is blurry, but no pain. THEN, if no dx, we wait 6 months for another brain MRI.  I think at that point I will definately go to a MS clinic for a second opinion/evaluation of all the tests and a more thorough clinical exam.  Sound good?

Thank you, friends...I am getting worried about my work.  I just hope this doesn't progress so fast that I can't tolerate going to work.  I hate how my legs feel and pray it eases up.  Unfortunately, so far, every symptom that has developed pretty much stays.
Blessings,
MK

That is just great!

Hopefully, with a full battery of tests and some thoughtful examination, they can come up with a diagnosis!

Yay!

I am praying for you!

I thnk that is wonderful news .. you are making progress now.  Stay on them to get the next appts. scheduled soon.  I have not had a VEP so can't give you any advice. PM me if you want to know about LP's though - I had a very positive experience.

Glad to hear this news,
Lulu

Oh Yes! This does sound good.  You are right on track w/your steps.  I'm surprised they did not already do the t-spine, VEP, EPs, etc., but at least they're lined up now.

Did you tell the DR about the blurry eye?

Did she explain your MRI reports to you any further?  Do you have copies? I'm glad there was nothing severe MK, but if it were me, I'd want to know what her thoughts on  severe are.

I'd also ask if the VEP could be lined up instead of waiting on the LP, etc.

ttys,
Shell
