E-mail for MS specialist

Hi, thought I'd ask for opinions before I hit "send" on this.  Do you think this might help?

Dr. Y

I just discovered that the testing to see if my urinary symptoms were neurogenic;the reason for my appointment with N. D, will not be scheduled anytime soon.  My first appointment with her will be October 30. I was told that I could reschedule with you for a later date after such testing might be scheduled and the results gathered.

This was the only testing that you ordered that had anything to do with my neurological symptoms.

Perhaps you could order a 3T MRI of my cervical and thoracic spine; to see if the pain in my right arm is from my spine, or the thoracic patchy areas on previous MRI are indeed a lesion or two.  Have your radiologists looked at my films?

I am trying very hard to live well, but the fatigue, memory lapses, dizziness, loss of balance, bladder issues, and pain in my right arm and hand are making things very difficult.

I would appreciate your help.

Kathleen

ARE YOU KIDDING?? Whipped cream mania please!!
Oh, if only i could steal, er, taste your delicious cooking!  I'll probably follow you around all day like those birdies with an open beak going "feed me, feed me!!"

Yeah, my cats have skillz. Roxy, (who was put on a cat food with the word "OBESITY" on its bag is feeling a little cranky) and Ozzy tought me how to use the computer, the Ipod, the digital camera the Direct TV thingy, the TiVo, and now they have been discussing whether or not to give me an Iphone. I say please don't. I tend to kill cell phones. I have the feeling they'll call my Superstar! YouTube video something like "Don't worry, MS won't do this to you. She was born with this terrible dancing skillz..This crazy woman is our owner... take us please!"

I'll be working on my "Puss in Boots" look for John Hopkins. Maybe i'll get a little basket, get me some Depends and a onesie, fit myself in there, pull up a pink blankie and have someone to attach a note saying "Hi, I'm Farrah, my parents gave me up cause i have MS. Please take good (expensive) care of me"
What do you think?

And the super energy wish of the night for you: PAIN; BE GONE!!!
SHAZAM!

I've been planning on making blueberry pancakes for weeks now, but I always just end up putting my blueberries on my cereal.  Maybe tomorrow, but I bet they wouldn't taste very good by the time they got to you.  I'll just have to send you some virtual ones and you imagine how wonderful they are.

I can't tolerate antinflammatory drugs like Advil or Aleve, or any of them.  I've tried each new one that was supposed to be easier on your stomach, but if I take more than one single dose, my stomach hurts. Sometimes my stomach hurts with the first dose.

Have any of your cat's been carrying around a video camera or even a cell phone with video capabilities?  I need to no what title they will give your "Superstar!" YouTube appearance.

Practice your pitiful orphan girl look; if you don't get into a study, maybe you'll get an Oscar!

Um, my neck, back, hip, knees, and right foot hurt.  Lower back the worst right now.  Don't wave that chainsaw too close or it could be a big mess!

I think I feel it working!  Maybe blueberry pancakes for dessert; do you want whipped cream on yours?

uh, yeah, but we want something delicious from someone we know LIKES to cook and does it good.. i was thinking blueberry pancakes??

Go take your nap! and take something for the pain. You know, i have been taking all those painkillers that kids love so much and they just don't do the trick for me. I only take Tramadol lately, i have it one of those "in case of emergency, brake glass" boxes. I felt the horrible black cloud of pain coming and i took Advil.. it never came! no pain! and Jen said something about excersising and i've been dancing like an idiot with my ipod as the cats watched in horror. Expect my YouTube moment coming son! Superstar!!

You know, i'm still in South America, and we don't have any studies like that.
I am hoping John Hopkins would take a poor South American Orphan into their loving arms when i get back to Virginia. (I'm not an orphan, but i need to look as sad and terrible as possible, so they'll take me)

Kathy, let me know what is hurting you and maybe the mighty chainsaw threat might take the pain away. My feetses (i know, i like to use stupid words) have been acting soooooo nice i feel like treating them to a bubbly bath...

PS: feel better! I command you with the mighty chainsaw!

It's your turn to cook!

I'm glad your feet behaved last night.

Hmm, if your neuro wants a bunch of expensive tests, he should find some kind of study to enroll you in so they could be paid for.

My best friend has a pituitary tumor, needed to use injectable human growth hormone (around $1000 a month), and her endocrinologist got her into a study that paid for it for quite a while, as well as MRIs of her brain every 6 months.

Just a thought. Maybe your neuro could look for a study that could pay for some of these tests.

I don't like corticosteroids either; they don't work for me, I get flushed and stay awake,  and I always seem to get a virus when I take them.

Sigh, I had a rough night, from pain.  I'm ready for a nap and I haven't had breakfast yet!  It's 10 am here.  Oooh, I can take a pain pill!  (how pitiful is that?)  :o)

Later,

Kathy

As long as you bring that yummy salad..

Oh please, Dr Y (love that, makes it sound like it's something from Austin Powers!)
HAS to understand. My neuro calls me "chick" . "Hey, chick, what's up?" he would say. He's cool, but we have the typical relationship between mommy and kid not wanting to take the cough syrup. I don't want corticoesteroids because they don't work on me. And he wants tests, tests, and more tests!! aaarrrgghhh!! expensive tests!! even with the insurance and the 25% off i get from the hospital, ONE of them is "only" about $300. Thanks a lot, doc!
Let us know! My feet behaved last night. Must have been the Lyrica or me threatening to chop them off.
Hope you're having a good day... what's for lunch????

Hmm, Dr. Y. is a woman, so I don't know if that changes the betting pool any.  She may take more time to think it through.

If she doesn't respond, or tells me that she doesn't think I need further testing or a follow- up with her, then she'll be ready for the weiner roast!  Tomorrow is Friday; should we give her a week in case she comes through?  :o)

I'll let you know what happens next in the story of "'As Kathy's Limboland Churns".

I wonder how long it will take the doctor to respond.  While we are all waiting for your response :) maybe we can place bets.  I bet he/she will respond by noon tomorrow.  Hope your email gets not only his attention but also some action to do more.   Please let us know what happens.
