Narcolepsy-Quixotic?

I was reading a reply by Quix about narcolepsy sometimes being seen in MS.

Any idea of the coincidence of the two occuring together?  In those with both, which dx came first?

I was dx'd with narcolepsy with cataplexy at the age of 40.  Isn't that late in life?

Also, years ago when I had  lp's the opening pressures were above 300mm (1st one done d/t HA after being exposed to bacterial mennigitis, luckily my dx was meningismus, the second one was done 4 years later after months of vertigo and looking to r/o MS).  Any correlation to the conditions?

Thanks for the input,
Karen

oops!

I can't answer your questions.  I only know that when Jules got the diagnosis of Narcolepsy/Cataplexy I looked up whether they were associated with MS and saw that there were several reports of people with MS having the two.  But, now I have seen the new study that shows that narcolepsy is an autoimmune disorder, so I do not know how to answer your question.
