It started over a year ago with a constant corset type feeling around my ribcage. After various testing my stomach doctor felt it was most likely my gallbladder even though a hida scan showed a normal function. In September I reluctantly had my gallbladder removed, but the corset type (heavy) feeling did not go away completely. From the beginning I had read about MS hugs and so I went to a neurologist in December. A brain MRI showed no signs of MS but the doctor told me to come back if I started noticing problems from the waist down. At the end of February I started having problems sleeping, aching joints and muscles, constipation and numbness/tingling down my legs and feet. I blamed it on side effects from the protonix I had been on for 3 months. With my doctors approval I stopped the protonix. It took over a week for the withdrawal symptoms to disappear and I felt much better. Until this last week or so. Now my thighs (especially inner) and crotch area are achy and get that numbness feeling sometimes like I used to experience when I was 9 months pregnant. I tend to notice a bloated (constipated like) feeling at the same time as the achy thighs. Now I am wondering if I should go back to my neurologist or go back to my stomach doctor? On one hand, I keep imagining a tumor or a cyst, but I had a cat scan done on my pelvic, abs and chest area back in August and the results came back normal. I also had a colonoscopy done in August and they found a tiny polyp which they removed. Results came back fine. On the other hand, the neurologist did tell me to go back if I developed problems below the waist.
I am sorry for the long report, but I am confused as to what step I should take next. Especially since I have spent a lot of money on medical expenses this past year. Which type of doctor should I see or should I just wait it out some more? I might add, although I try to do stretching exercises and light aerobics most days, I don't feel I have done anything lately that might have pulled or strained those muscles.
Thank you.
