Neurosurgeon Consult

My neurologist recommended that I see Neurosurgeon due to mri results. I have bulging c5/6 c6/7 discs that are compressing the spinal cord.

Neurosurgeon believes this is causing the pain and electric shocks in my neck and arm and possible leg spasms and weakness. This does not however explain the face numbness or wet skin sensations that I have had for the last two years.

Neurosurgeon has recommended surgery (scheduled for Nov. 25th). I jokingly asked if he could do the lumbar puncture at the same time. He said he could if the neurologist would like him to do it. Sounds like a good deal to me if I could have them both done at once and while I'm knocked out!

Amen! I had to have two done in one month!  I had the first one end of sept and they didn't draw blood for comparison on some of the tests. The lab the CsF shipped the tests to called the original site and told them they were missing/needing blood. No one bothered to call me however , and too much time elapsed so I had to have another one the tenth of OCT.   I go Monday to talk about results. I would have loved to have been knocked out for either one of them!

I can imagine that if the bulging discs are compressing the spinal cord this would cause much of what you are experiencing. It will take a while to recover from & to see any change.

It would be the way I would want a lumber puncture too....whilst having sweet dreams.lol ;-)

I wish you the best for the surgery on the 25th Nov. Keep us updated on how you are doing.

Take Care

Karry.
