Well, Mike, since you're in Canada, I'm thinking your keyboard is set for French Canadian use. Try this site

or Google others until it all works the way you want it. One aggravation eliminated.

If it weren't for your OT, I would be laughing even harder. My first thought was brain fog and you couldn't remember the ?.
Yesterday morning, my brain fog was so bad that it took me a half an hour to remember how to turn on cruise control in my car. I use it every work day and man was that frustrating not to remember something that should be rote by now.
I do agree with others for you to go to control panel and check your language settings.
Post us back with "Do I have this right now????"
LOL
oops - I meant I agree with SB about this one, Mike. I have had this happen before on my keyboard- there are secret keystrokes to make this happen and I have hit that combination more than once.
I'm sorry, I just had to chuckle, I haven't heard the term 'hells bells' in many years.
I have a control, fn, alt, and shift keys. Have you tried any of these or combination of these? Red
I 'm with Mike - try the language setting and make sure it is US english.
Is the question mark in green or another colour? Try holding down the FN key (bottom left usually) and then pressing ?
Sounds like your keyboard is set to a different language...go to control panel, regional & language...make sure that English is selected.
