Osteophytes on MRIs

Hey, all!

This is just a silly question, but when my evil neuro did imaging of my lumbar and thoracic spine, I saw on the report that I have a few osteophytes , one is large and prominent (I have osteoarthritis all over my spine) in the area imaged.  Is it possible for a bony protrusion like that to obscure a lesion on my spinal cord, do you think?

Just wondering in Detroit*

No, the osteophytes will not obscure any part of the spine on an MRI.  No worries.  Q
