Radiologically Isolated Syndrome (RIS) and MS

Here is some new data on the correlation of Radiologically Isolated Syndrome (RIS) and MS. RIS is objective evidence of white matter lesions without any clinical manifestation. Per the article, RIS can morph into CIS and then into MS.

"Evidence suggests that within 2 to 5 years after initial RIS detection, roughly two-thirds of individuals show radiologic progression characterized by new lesions and/or gadolinium enhancement on MRI, and one-third exhibit neurological symptoms consistent with conversion to clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) or MS."

The article mentions the dilemma of whether or not to treat RIS and CIS with DMD's.

This is what the MS-logist DX me with a few years ago.  I lack strong clinical evidence  for CIS..

My baseline MRI showed a lesion or two,  follow up MRI a new lesion did enhance,

I gone from 2, and now I have six lesions in all the areas for MS.

I now have two spinal cord lesions..     and still no DMD'S

this is how it goes for someone in Limboland, and as i read all the reports it says  demyelining diease all over the reports,

take care
JB.
