Raspy voice

Lately I notice my voice will get raspy, Horst, like I have a sore throat, but I don't have a sore throat or a cold.  It will last a few hours then it's gone.

Next day it's back?

Any ideas on this.....thanks
Wobbly

Hey there,

It's part and parcel of the MS speech and communication issues, and I know it very well lol i think technically its called dysphonia. When it's happening and I answer the phone, I often get mistaken for a man or can't get my voice loud enough to be heard, oh and I'm constantly having people commenting on how sick i sound. If I had a dollar for every time someone said "ohhhhh you poor thing you sound so bad, have you tried......"

There's around 40% of MSers dealing with some form of communication issue, we probably talk about those long pauses in speech but things like tone, articulation, quality of voice (too loud or too quiet), pitch and slurr/stutter are all communication related issues for MSers.

These are informative....

Speech issues have been my everyday normal for awhile, but for me this is only one aspect of my communication issues, though all told the voice quality actually started before my youngest was born and he's 17 now. Have you got other speech issues too?

Cheers...........JJ
