SHOULD I GET AN MRI?

i HAVE BEEN HAVING "VERTIGO" FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS. MY PCP DID LABS THAT SHOWED ORMAL EXCEP SLIGHTLY ELEVATED LIVER ENZYMES, I HAD MY HEARING TESTED THAT WAS NORMAL, HAD A CT THAT SHOWED NO TUMORS OR STROKE. BUT I'M TO THE POINT TO WERE I CAN'T DRIVE CAUSE I KEEP DRIFTING OFF INTO OTHE RLANES, MY COGNITION IS GETTING WORSE, AND I'M EXTREAMLY FATIGUED. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ENT BUT NOT FOR 2 WEEKS. I'M GETTING MY VISION CHECKED ON FRIDAY TO SEE IF IT'S THAT. SO SHOULD I GET AN MRI TO CHECK FOR MS?

Hi and welcome,

MS is one of the least common causes compared to all the others, the most common cause of vertigo is a problem in the inner ears, inner ear infections or diseases of the ear eg benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, and Meniere's disease. BPPV can occur when calcium builds up in canals of the inner ear, which off the top of my head is the most common cause of vertigo.....i honestly don't think you need to be concerned about a neurological condition like MS at this stage of testing. 2 weeks will definitely seem like a very long time to wait, it might get you an appointment sooner if you contact the clinic, explain your situation and ask them to contact you if they get a cancellation before you appointment date.

Hope that helps......JJ
