I want to say thanks to all of you for your help. I am doing good but my husband has a lot of problems. He is seeing a doctor at a clinic because his cobra insurance ran out about a year ago and he has no insurance right now. He was denied SSDI twice now we are waiting on a hearing.
Oh I forgot. The fact that they have been working on it for a year means that your application has initially been denied at one of several steps. So it's good that they are still trying.

Allsup is an orginization that provides people with applying for SSDI. Your company that is now paying Long Term Disability has most likely hired them to provide you help with your application. If you are not approved the company will most likely pay for the services. Allsup will take a portion of your initial benefit check.
As they explain on the company website, the entire process includes several stages and typically takes between 4 to 6 months. It is in the interest of who is paying your LTD as well as your current insurance to place you with SSDI and Medicare. Then they can quit paying for you.
I don't know about this particular company but looks like they are a good company.
Good luck!
