Seattle

I'm going to Seattle for a wedding and we've decided to spend a week since we've never been out there. Has anyone been out there who can advise on getting around. My right leg is pretty weak and, with an AFO, I can usually walk up to one half mile. We've always been great walkers on vacations to new places and this is going to be a new experience. Any suggestions or advice?

Hi, I live in the Seattle area. It is lovely here, especially this time of year, however, this weekend is not looking all that great, so you might bring something to keep of the drizzle!

Quix is right, it's very hilly in downtown, however, if you are visiting any of the suburbs, it's not so bad. There are lots of great things to do. Pike Place Market, The Seattle Art Museum, the Experience Music Project (it has a Sci-Fi museum too), the Zoo, the Aquarium, Allki beach, great parks, great concerts and plays, great restaurants, the list goes on and on.

Have a wonderful time!!!!

Hi, Welcome!  Are you a doc in Education or in the Emergency Department?

Good to see you here!  We have several docs here.

Seattle is very hilly.  What I mean to say is that it is VERY hilly.  I know that even with my AFO, I have trouble with hills.  You might call the hotel you are staying at and ask about the things that are in walking distance and whether or not the hills are gentle or steep.  You might plan on taxis to the middle of areas like Pike Place Market and do the walking once you get there.

It is a wonderful city!
