Stomach pain

Sorry, I just posted a question under a post so I wanted to repeat in case it doesn't get seen. I have had a horrible stomach ache for five years. Already diagnosed with MS 15 years ago. I have been very lucky that I have only had problems with my left leg and vision problems. I have had 2 colonoscopies two endoscopies and 2 cts and am to be scheduled for a third ct. Had my gallbladder out and have been testes for food allergies. I had many food allergies, including wheat, and have drastically changed my diet. I will feel wonderful for a couple months after that and bam! The horrible ache in my stomach returns. It's a bloated full feeling and I can't bear anything around my waist. I need to wear very loose elastic pants. Could this be my MS? Thanks for listening. Mb

Hi and welcome to our little MS community,

hmmm tricky because you do actually have an allergy to wheat, and that does cause bloating, stomach ache, diarrhoea/constipation etc and IB bowel issues can also cause those problems too. MS can also be responsible for gastrointestinal issues too, beyond being aware of spinal cord lesions causing bladder/bowel/sexual dysfunctions, after reading this research snippet there may be more to it....... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24163768

Have you discussed these problems with your treating MS neurologist yet?

Cheers..........JJ

I am sorry. Have you had your ovaries checked? You can have a benign tumor or cyst pressing or blocking things. I went to doctors for several years. I had a tumor pressing on organs. I had it out no more issues with my stomach.

It may not be that but it gets over looked because they have to look at the ovaries.I was checked out by a gynecologist but she looked my uterus. Had a CT scan and it did not show up. Had my gall bladder out. Ended up in the ER throwing up. Was sent to a Gastro. He said I had IBS. Finally my GP did a pelvic ultra sound and found tumors. They had blamed mine on MS.

Women can have cysts the size of grapefruits which are benign. Even a small benign ovarian cyst can cause pain.
