Stomach problems & MS

Hey everyone...

I have a question...Do any of you have stomach problems? If I was to trace back some sort of symptoms, I could go back quite a ways to unexplainable pain in my left lower abdomen. It would come and go. I had CT scans, colonoscopy, the tests came out fine and no one knew what it was.

For the past month, I have been having this pain high up in my stomach, right where the stomach starts that feels like I was punched. I have some reflux, heartburn, but mainly I hurt or feel nauseous off and on all day. It doesn't matter if I eat or not...I don't eat spicy things or greasy/fatty foods.

I was on Prilosec over a yr ago for Gastritis, so I started taking it again but no change. The Dr gave me Dexilant, which made me so sick, weak with diarhea. He switched me to Zantac which I take 2x a day..feel the same. I had an ultrasound this morning which showed my gallbladder had a polyp? The radiologist told me it wouldn't be the cause for my discomfort, and not to worry about it or do anything about it so now they are thinking its possibly a Hietal Hernia? I am totally stressed!

I don't know if I can postpone if I needed surgery or not. My husband is due back from Iraq next month when we move up to Wa state. We absolutely HAVE to move at the end of June...I have to rent out our house, since I can't sell it right now. I have to fly up to Wa to find a place for us to live, its so much pressure, I feel crushed all the time.

I am trying to do everything, I can't walk straight, so its extra hard. I have no family here to lean on.
So, my question is...Does anyone else think there is a connection between MS and stomach issues? My neuro would disagree.

Thank you everyone forr your responses! I am waiting for my Dr to call me back so I can possibly be scheduled for the Endoscopy. I am assuming that is the next step.

I'm not looking forward to driving from Az to Wa feeling this way. Also, we were supposed to stop overnight in Vegas and I am concerned I will be a big downer. Its bad enough that I am off balance.

i made a mistake about the Autoimmune Dysfunction. i think i meant to say Autonomic Nervous System and MS.

i cannot say for sure but will say that i have had consistent intestine/colon issues since the first neuro problems started with the csf wbc infection. the acid reflux and sharp pains in the gut/intestine area all started from that time too.

may be related to Autoimmune Dysfunction as Q mentioned the other day. my neuro doesn't even want to discuss the issue and my gastro says, "looks like you have ms", so its ping pong game of diagnosis where i go.

so, my gut/intestine area hasn't been the same since nor have i. i have no idea what it is.

I started getting sick in April. Pain in my left abdomen. First they thought female problems, then kidney stone, then pancreatitis.  It turned out to be my gallbladder. I had it out Monday and feel so much better. The surgeon said the thing has been inflamed for years looking at all the scarring.

I have not been Dx yet but I wanted to respond. I do have stomach issues and have for several years. I get the pain and nausea towards the top of my stomach as well. The pain can get so bad at times that I have to lay down. It isnt gas, which my neuro says it is. Its not the same feeling. It doesnt matter if I have eaten or not, doesnt matter what I have eaten. I am sorry you are having to do all that yo are handling right now, especially alone. I cant imagine handling just feelig the way I do without my Dh around. You must really be looking forward to your Dh's return.
On a side note, thank you and your Dh for his service to our country.
