Super sensitive elbow reflexes?

Hi, I was wondering whether anybody else has really sensitive nerve reflexes in their elbows?

I was diagnosed with MS after a bout of Optic Neuritis almost 3 years ago. Until recently, I had no signs that anything else was happening. On my last neuro visit, a couple of months back, the doc picked up a nytagmus in my eye when looking to the extreme left, and I now also have it when looking to the extreme right.

Now, in the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that my elbow reflexes are very sensitive. If I am sitting with my elbows on a table, then just the vibrations from the strumming of someone's fingers on the table is enough to cause a reflexive action in my elbows. My fiance thinks it is funny to make my arms dance by tapping on the table. I have to agree that it is kinda funny. A heavier tapping can also make my shoulders twitch as well.

My reflexes generally are pretty strong, but still within the normal range going by my last neurological exam in January.

My knee reflexes are like that!  I can hit my hand on my leg and my reflexes go off!

I've had some hypersensitive reflexes but nothing like what you are describing.  It sounds like it could be a low level of clonus, maybe even spreading clonus with a greater stimulus.

We have a terrific Health Page about measuring the tendon reflexes.  Its lots more helpful than me.  All the Health Pages can be accessed from one of the boxes to the right.  Or here's a link to the one about reflexes: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Multiple-Sclerosis/Measuring-The-Tendon-Reflexes/show/157?cid=36
