UTI and blood clots

I have my second UTI this year and this is the first time ever I have passed blood clots. I do get a small amount of blood when I wipe but today I have blood clots. This UTi came out of no where and I see my doc this afternoon...has any one had this ? Also the spasms after I finish peeing are so bad that they go right down into my hands, anyone have this? Sorry to hear of your painful UTI. When I get UTIs, I frequently have hemorrhagic cystitis, another term for bleeding due to a bladder infection. And with it comes the bladder spasms.

You need to be drinking LOTS of water. Yes, you'll have to go more but when the urine is not so concentrated the spasms lessen and therefore hurt less in the long run. I had on urologist tell me to sit a warm tub of water, basically a sitz bath, and urinate there. Yes, kinda messy but it sure does hurt less and you can then freshen up.

So sorry to hear you are adding another problem to the list - its a good thing you are already scheduled to see the doctor today.  Otherwise we would al lbe screaming at you to call and get in to see the doctor!

I hope you get some quick answers on this one.
