Update on bowel issues

Hello everybody,
Sorry I haven't been on for a couple weeks but I have been to the docs 3 times and still having same bowel issues.
I went into see my Neuro to go over my lumbar MRI and it cam back fine. I told her I was unhappy with our last visit.
I asked her why one visit she tells me a new symptom can only come from a new lesion, but the next time she tells me you don't need a new lesion to get a new symptom, it's jus a symptom of MS. Yikes!!!!!
However we did agree that I'm not exempt from getting other things.
So I saw a gi doc and she gave me an exam and said I have decreased muscle control and sent me to another gi doc to have a test as he is the only one who does this test. I had a consult with him and he did not have a very good bedside manner. I went by myself cause mike had to work. I was trying to explain what was going on, but when I get nervous I have trouble articulating my words. He looked at me and said I don't understand what your saying. Well then I was mad, so I told him look I have ms and words don't come to me right away so please be patient with me as I'm doing the best I can.  His face softened a bit and he was better for the rest of the consult.
So that is where we are.
The Neuro also agree that it still could be the MS but we have to rule out other stuff.
Thanks for continuing to listen and lend your support.
I hope you all are able to find some joy in these summer months.
Regards, barb

GI problems can be so complicated. Between the MS, opiods, and bowel constriction, MS slow bowels I have major constipation. I have been on almost every laxative and program. I have a bowel blockage which makes it harder.I can't eat fiber or take certain laxatives.

My doctor and her NP spent an hour with me working out a plan. It ended up drinking Milk of Magnesia three times a day. It does help and is not harsh. Each of us needs our own plan and it may take trial and error.

I have a colonoscopy Tuesday, so right there with you :P.  I've already been put on a medication for my troubles that seems to be helping, and I'm weaning off all the OTC stuff.   Hoping you'll be able to get some help soon!

Well, darn it. I was hoping they might have pinned it down. Good to know that they are taking you seriously and that they are making sure you get specific tests.

Good for you for standing up to your neuro and dealing with the slightly rude GI doc to help him understand. Stress and fatigue make me forget words mid-sentence and that makes me frustrated so good job in keeping your cool!!

Hugs, and I hope that they can figure it out for you soon. Please keep us updated.
