My own list and not necessarily in order of importance.
There are about 275.000 - 385.000 MS sufferers (diagnosed)
in N. America.
And who knows how many undiagnosed or mis-diagnosed.
Blessings to all.

Not to be alarmist, but this article on Bisphenol A is pretty damning...

Yup, I'm beginning to wonder (again) if it's environmental - caused by something we're eating, or something we're eating with, like teflon. They found high levels of BPAs in canned food just recently. Things like soups are especially high.
I wonder why they never tested canned food before, or if they did and hid the evidence. I hate to think like that, but with the news about Monsanto, I'm feeling pessimistic.
As I am newly diagnosed - two days ago - I did find that while going thru the process I encountered several people with MS. I work on the weekends as a demonstrator for dog food and met two people very recently who are regular customers of my dog food who have the disease - very sad
Haven't been hearing of more myself. But, personally feel the more advanced dx techniques used, the more we'll continue to see :( It sure is sad though.
In my new MS life, I should add, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't run into people with some sort of disability. I never ever did previously ( I must have but my selfishness proved a successful foil). Yesterday, I was helping a man with a not so hidden prosthetic arm, and then talking to a lady who had overcome cancer. I have discovered fibromyalgia, hashimotos disease, Raynauds disease, Friedreichs ataxia and the list goes on and on. Sometimes I disclose my condition, and sometimes I don't depending on the day I'm having or the circumstances.
Reflecting on the many people I have met in this short time, I think the more serious the condition being dealt with by the individual then the more grounded, without pretence or affectations, that they appear to be.
Appearances can be so deceiving. It is so rewarding to discover all these people who are suffering in some way just like me and how they cope with everyday tasks and people. I thought about making up special badges or a stamp to hand out in recognition of these new magic moments.
The most amazing MS connection, apart from some here, was sitting on a plane one Sunday morning next to a newly arrived tourist. To our amazement we discovered we were both Christian and then with MS. What are the chances I pondered? Pretty good, the answer came back.

There is not a day that goes by I do not run into someone with MS or someone who has someone close to them with MS. People ask what my service dog is for.

Hi Lulu,
Yes, isn't it sad to hear of new cases especially since we know the absolute turmoil that the dx will cause them physically and emotionally. The regular utube videos by Montel of newly diagnosed are so emotional for me to watch because they put a face to the disease.
I haven't come across anyone newly dxed in my real world life but I have four friends that recently undertook neurological testing without any success since my dx.
They say this phenomenum of seeing more people with MS is related to brain's razz where for example you think you are buying a uniquely coloured bright yellow VW beetle only to find a dozen people the next week driving around in the exact same vehicle . I guess it all depends on what we are looking for. I think I can hear a song coming on.
Blessings
