What a journey

Well all I am home and resting, well for now anyway, have to go see my doctor tomorrow to make sure things are still going ok.

As you all know I have been in the hospital with a kidney infection gone wild. Well the meds have been working and it looks better on film, so they let me come home, on oral meds yay!!! no picc line yay!!! They did tell me however that once it is cleared up they will run some tests to make sure there is not damage caused by the infection. I can say that I am still in pain but SO glad to be out of the hospital.

I will be hoping and praying that there has been no damage, so that I don't have to go through anymore of this. I was told that I may be on a low dose of antibiotic for a few months to make sure it doesn't come back, which makes not sense to me cause I thought your body gets immune to antibiotics if taken to often, but I am not a doctor and will do as they say :) I don't want to go through this again.

I want to thank all of your for your warm get well wishes, it means more than you know.

I guess this infection explains all the symptoms that seemed to have been hitting me so fast and hard. I am hoping once the infection is gone I will get back to normal, well my normal anyway.

Thank you,
Paula

Michelle,

My ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:30 so hopefully they can tell me that it is only the infection :) trying to keep my hopes up and think positive lol

hey paula,

so glad you are home, but that doesn't sound like a nice way to wake up at all!
when is your u/s?  if not today, i'd be thinking to call your doc. and let them know about the increase in pain.

sooooo wishing this gets better for you, and fast!

xoxo michelle

Thank you everyone,

I woke up this morning and not feeling so well, well I feel ok, just the pain and tenderness. When I roll on my left side it feels like everything is ripping out of my right side. Hoping it is just the infection going away and a normal feeling. I do have a lot more pain now than I had before but I guess we will see when I go get the ultrasound done.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Hi Paula

Welcome home and i am so glad for you that you are out of hospital..it really is no fun and it sounds like you have had a horrendous time. It is a sharp reminder to us all to not ignore any urinary symptoms and pain.  It is so easy to battle on as we don't want to make a fuss and to just think it's the MS. Well it often is and so we need to listen more to our bodies and trust our own instincts when we are unwell.

I really hope that you pick up strength soon, so eat lots of nourishing food and just take great care of yourself.

With love Sarah x

It's GOOD to hear you're home. Take it easy and finish healing...you wouldn't want to go back for a PICC line would you? Didn't think so, neither would I and I used to place PICC lines all the time.

Stay healthy!

I'm so glad you're back!  Picc line, huh?  They were talking about giving me one, since they couldn't find a vein for the IV.  Fortunately they finally got one in.

I am glad to see you are out of the hospital. It's always nicer to rest at home anyway, all of that interrupted sleep when in a hospital isn't a good thing. Please take care!! Pamela

Kelly,
thank you and I hope for a speedy recovery too lol. Thanks for the prayers, power of prayers can do amazing things. :)

Bob,
Oh I will finish all the meds they give me, I am not going to go through this again if I can help it. I go back to the doc tomorrow just to follow up and see where we go from there.

Nice that you are out of the hospital.  Make sure you finish all the antibiotics and follow up wit the doctor.  Some of these resistant bacteria are a pain to get rid of.  I had kidney stones with nephritis a few years ago, so I know that nephritis is no fun.

Glad you are doing better.
