What is everyone up to this week?

Hope everyone is hanging in there. I am and Boomer is doing great after his surgery. He looks like Boris Karloff but he is acting like a puppy.

Today Polly and I go for a walk and to get a shot in my shoulder.

Tuesday we have a nutritionist at the MS meeting.

Not much else.

I almost forgot to mention this...My appointment with the surgeon got cancelled on Thursday.  I was following up for scheduling gallbladder surgery after my bout with pancreeatitis where my no good GB was a key player.  The surgeon was called into emergency surgery - go figure - so they asked if I wanted to wait or reschedule.  I rescheduled for next week.

Pastor Dan, buddy I am with you about saying good riddens to my GB.  They wanted to take it out a few years ago, but back then I promised to change my diet because I wanted to keep all my body parts. Well, this bad boy, I've named him "Harold", has got to go.  Harold has outlived his usefullness and needs to hit the road.  Wish we could have parted under better circumstances.  :)

I hope everyone's happenings this past week went well.

Had the injection stress test a few weeks ago; wish I'd have been able to do the treadmill.  That felt horrible.

I survived the nuclear stress test!!! :-)

3.5 MPH at 15% incline to get my heart in range at 140 bpm.  That sure was fun.  Ok, so you caught me fibbing. It wasn't fun, but at least I made it through and didn't have to do the injection stress test.  Tech said everything looks good, so I won't hold my breath waiting to hear from the cardio.

MIL is in CHF - they are taking lots of water off her to relieve the pressure on her heart. She will probably go back to her assisted living home by the end of the week - medicare will only authorize 3 days in the hospital.

It's always something, isn't it?

Back to the MS specialist Thursday to find out what she thinks we need to do next in my journey to find my way out of limboland.

She's also supposed to have a second opinion on my craniocervical junction issue by then.

And more fighting with the insurance company over my MRIs.

Lu, I am glad you had a good appt on your 2nd year anniversary, I wish you many more healthy appts to come!  I will say a prayer for your MIL.

Quix, I am so glad you had a good appt with your new neuro. Sounds like you got a good one... I will read your journal tomorrow when I can comprehend more than right now.

For me, I am sick with a bad chest cold/sore throat/headache/stomach issues, the works for 2 days, getting worse. I am also very teary today/tonight, missing my mom. She was always so concerned if I didn't feel well, and would call me all day to check on me. I miss her and her calls. No one loves you like your mother.

2 of my kids are sick, went to pedi. today, DX virus, did strep cultures, negative, so it just has to run its course.

Hubby going out of town early in the morning for the week, gonna be hard. Lots of activities, projects this week for the kids. We will see if I can handle it.

Working Wednesday, which will be uncomfortable. I quit my job yesterday speaking to my boss over the phone. It is a HUGE LONG story, which I wont go into right now, but it is a tough situation and I am sad about it.

Friday, I am supposed to finally meet with OB/GYN to discuss my "options" about Ultrasound I had in December. I am tempted to move it to Friday, as I still am having an OK January and want to keep it that way.

Gotta go to bed now,
Michelle

LauraLu, we'll pray for MIL, & for no more cardiac issues for you for the next 20 years or so.

Julie, I was just telling someone today how I miss my gall bladder about as much as my job with the county -- or was it the other way around?  Whichever, I know I've been way healthier, gastrologically speaking, since bidding that organ farewell.  Our best to you in this experience.

Quizzles, I'll read up on you in the AM, Lord willing.

Shalom to the rest of yas.  Well okay, to everybody.

Saw my new neuro this morning and everything I understood about my disease pattern is changed - for the better.  See my journal.

I will likely be off the forum mostly for the next few days.  - Nothing bad, just need some time.

Appointment with surgeon on Thurs about getting Gallbladder removed.

Congrats to Lu for your 2nd post-HA anniversary.

It's good to hear Boomer is doing better.

Bandit and Annie might need to go to sibling counseling.  Hopefully they will work their issues out before much longer.

Have a good week everyone.

Hugs,

Julie

Thanks, Alex, for starting this thread.

Kathy, there is no way to retrieve what is lost, unfortunately.

This week should be quieter, I hope.

I finshed last week with my annual MRI on a 3T and then went into the 7T for the third time in a year.  That was Friday.

Last Thursday was my 2nd anniversary, post- MI.  What's a great way to celebrate?  I had a cardiac stress test done this morning.  The tech said it looked good and it only took 8 minutes on the treadmill to get my heart up to 140 bpm, my target range.

I heard an hour ago my 93 year old MIL was sent to the hospital to get her heart checked.  She has been struggling the past few weeks.

I thought the rest of the week would be calm and quiet, but I think her hospitalization changes the big picture.

my best,
Lulu

Arrgghhh!  I was writing a lengthy and heart-felt journal entry called the Power of Music and Laughter, was just about done, and accidently hit the Privacy thingy below, and the whole thing disappeared!

Any way I can get it back, or is it gone forever?  Maybe I'll try again later.

I had a great time at a wonderful concert yesterday; think I'll write about it in my journal.

Today I plan on going to pick up some prescriptions, filling my gas tank first.

Tomorrow is the day after my Avonex injection; usually a low and slow day, but has been getting better.  I hope to actually do more than read, watch movies, and do one load of laundry.

I hope to do some of the wonderful healthy cooking that I loved so much in the past; I'm thinking to start with a mild vegetarian curry; think I have all the ingredients already.

Other than that, nothing planned.  I'm sure something else will show up. Oh, yeah, I need to get my oil changed and new windshield wiper blades before it starts pouring rain again!

I am completing some additional paperwork for SS Disability and I will volunteer for 4 hours tonight at a local Hospice House.

Tomorrow, I will volunteer a few hours there as well.

Church on Wednesday and the rest of the week is clear.  We are expecting some bad wintry precipitation and I'm not looking forward to that.

I hope everyone has a very blessed week.

Every time I say my week is open, it fills up.  Therefore, I will say, "No comment."

There is a retreat for pastors in our district and their spouses, being held in Ohio's Amish country.  Nancy and I were hoping to go, but she can't get off work, and we really can't afford it.  It runs through Wednesday, I believe.  I just read that the main speaker had to cancel due to a sudden death in his immediate family that occurred yesterday, so I will be praying for him and his family.

Tim has 3 games this week, which will close out the 7th grade boys' basketball season.

Sermon prep (a non-stop task), and getting things all set up for a special concert on 2/13, which we hope will draw some of the young people of the area.

Glad to hear Boomer's doing well.  Pray for Annie & Bandit; they've been trying to develop some behavioral issues.

We will pray that everyone here has a blessed week.
