What's heating up this week besides the weather?

I just saw the week's weather forecast and it looks like most the country is baking this week with extreme temps - we know how much our MS loves the heat, so please be careful out there, ok?  Sorry, I haven't seen the international forecast so you have to fill in your own weather advisory.

It's that time to let us know what is happening this week - anything is game to share here including doctor appointments or lunch dates.  It's our way of keeping track of what's important in your life..

So give it up - what are you doing this week besides trying to stay cool?

If anyone's been watching the news, we've had a lot of "excitement" here in Colo Sprgs the last few days.

Tues evening, I wasn't even for sure if my brother's were going to be able to make it out of the evacuation area alive, as they could literally see the fire coming down the mtn side towards them (I posted a pic). The air was so full of ash & smoke EVERYWHERE. It was like something I've never seen in my entire life.

Just got news yesterday that the house is still standing. It's only 4 streets away from the major burn area. Family still evacuated and no work for my partner since her company is in the evacuation area.

Other than that, I had a dermatology (more biopsies) & urology appt earlier this week, before the "bomb" went off Tues evening.  And I'm still waiting for the ASAP GI referral people to call me to set-up an appt.

I have a three day convention to attend this weekend.  I will take my wheelchair, and it should go great.

Try to stay cool, everyone!

As Kat said, it has been very hot & humid in the northeast. Two days in a row of 95 degree heat. TG4 AC and pool :)

I have been battling this sinus infection and pseudo relapse all week. Health problems and the heat kept me fom goin to some outdoor grad parties :(

The advice I got from forum responses was spot on! I saw the neuro nurse and she confirmed that it is a pseudo due to the infection.

I hope everyone has a great week

Kyle: enjoy the Canadian Rockies and our gorgeous west coast!  Is this your first trip out this way?  Check out the Columbia Icefields if you have a chance, it's gorgeous drive there from Banff/Lake Louise.  Banff has a some great cultural stuff this time of year:  opera, classical music concerts, theatre, if you're into that kind of thing.  Fantastic hiking in that part of Alberta.  I'm about a 7 hour drive north from there.  Have a wonderful trip!

GP appt today.  He referred me to a speech pathologist for my (mild) swallowing difficulty.  Tomorrow I'll be calling for a physio appt to work on my balance and am seeking someone for acupuncture for my pain. pathology report back on the breast cyst that I had aspirated, it was normal, wasn't worried so an abnormal result would have taken me off guard.  Expecting my latest MRI result next week.  Cut & colour tomorrow.

Ahh. Vacation! No such thing here. Not yet anyway. Had a long stretch of those awful spasms and ended up in the ER this time. They found my liver enzymes were elevated and suspected there might be some lingering gallstones. Have a followup with the GI on Wed and a c-spine MRI on Thurs to see if anything will indicate what's causing this. It's just too painful. We need to figure this one out.

And I wanted to travel this week, too! Hmphf.

Beautiful weather for us today, but will be baking later in the week.

As for me, I had acupuncture today for my right leg and left arm.  I got a good hour nap in while I was on the table.  We're heading to Cleveland for a couple days, home for one night, and then down to South Carolina to visit friends, and back home on the 4th.

all the vacation breaks sound great - enjoy every moment you can get.

Meet with Neuropsychologist Friday for Jordan.  I hope he can give us more answers or atleast steer us in the right direction.  Dilantin seems to be giving him some relief with pain or he is just getting used to it.  He does well with it and mostly takes each day in stride.  He has been swimming everyday and his hair on his legs is growing back in.  More circulation I assume.  One day at a time here...  All is good.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!  Wishing health to all, safety and fun for vacationers, cooler temps for all!

Well today is so far a good day for me. I would like to start walking on my treadmill, but my legs are so numb as well as my arms. I'm in the process of changing neuros. So I'm presently without a Dr.  So I don't want to push myself too much.

I have my second Tysabri infusion on Friday and then we're going camping for the weekend!  Temps here in Denver have been over 100' for the past week.  Hopefully it will be cooler in the mountains!

Vacation! We're leaving Friday for 8 days in western Canada; 4 days each in Lake Louise(Banff) and Vancouver. High temps in the upper 60's to low 70's :-)

Here in NJ we will have one day in the high 70s--tomorrow--so looks like garage cleaning will happen on that day. After Tuesday, things go downhill fast weather-wise, so I will be knitting or getting into other trouble in the AC.

I have my second appt with the MS specialist Thurs. Because it's a 3 hour drive, they're saving me an additional trip and doing the spine MRI first and then I meet with the doctor to pick a DMD. At this point I still don't know which one to go with, but hopefully they can guide me. Keep cool everyone!

Thank goodness I'm starting to feel a of relief from the back pain & back surgery.

This week, I'll be using the TV remote and using the micro wave and just a lot of resting my back for the next few week.

No real issues just kinda checking,  nothing medical going for a couple of weeks.

I'll be updating my resume,  as s self employed construction contractor  as you know nation wide business is very sparse..

take care
