Woohooo for my insurance!!

I had called my old neuro on monday to ask them to let insurance know I will NOT be going for the MRI of the c-spine that they ordered. My new doctor, that I saw last Friday, is ordering a re-do of my brain MRI, along with my neck and entire spine. I have only had the brain MRI so far.

My new doctors receptionist said to have the old doctor cancel the c-spine MRI or it may "red flag" in the insurance system and could delay or cause them to deny the request.

So, I call my old neuro on monday and leave a message asking them to do that. I never hear back. So, I call my insurance today to explain what is going on. The rep looks it up and says "I'm showing all requests were approved" Woohooo!!!! Now I just wait for the MRI's to be scheduled!!

Can you see me doing a happy dance? LOL

It's hard to think of an occasion that doesn't seem just right for chocolate.

I can see you do the dance. Hopefully your doctor can get you the brain MRI

I'm still waiting for my insurance to give me the ok to go to the neuro (6 weeks so far- the average wait time is 8 weeks). I'm going to call my PCP tomorrow since I'm getting worse

Well, darn it I guess I misunderstood! The re-do of the brain MRI was denied, but the others (neck and full spine) were approved. I'll call my doctor tomorrow to find out if he is going to push for the brain one. I know he does not trust the lab, and its 1.5T machine. He said there are some labs that use a 1T machine that do "beautiful images" but this lab I went to is not one of them.

Well, I think the insurance approval of the other ones is still worth a chocolate truffle in celebration...but maybe not a happy dance LOL
