correction of deviated septum

Hi, I mentioned this probably a couple of years ago now, and am only now getting around to dealing with it.  I'm awating an appt for a CT scan to check out my deviated septum and find out whether surgery will correct it.  I'm not so concerned about getting the procedure if it will help.  Just wondering if any of you have had this done, how was the recovery and do you notice a big difference afterwords?  Any bad experiences with this?

I am thinking of having balloon sinuplasty if I ever meet my insurance deductible for other things. My sinuses have always been bad. I have also had my face smashed in three times in the same place under my left eye.

I'd be interested in others' experiences as well.  I already have CT and MRI images that show the problem pretty well, but my doc & I have never discussed it, as we're always looking at other things, for which those images were produced.  Still, I've had nasal problems all my life, and I've wondered what might be possible.
