my form to fill out for my new Neuro has a spot asking about family members that have similar symptoms and then also parents and grandparents any illness so yes do tell.
Sorry your nervous, I think we are so fed up with dismissal, I know that the more you do something that is stressful the less the stress gets to you it's like building up your tolerance to something. So the more you go the easier it will get.
Not sure if that made since lost my train of thought half way through the sentence.. the new normal for me :-)
Good luck tomorrow you will be fine let us know how it goes,
mary
Having a first-degree relative with MS increases your own risk significantly (first-degree is parent, sibling). Having a second-degree relative (grandmother, aunt) increases it, too, but not as much.
Thank you all so much. I did not want to look dumb by bring relatives( with what I had read). I feel a lot better and I will tell him. It is nice to be able to have a place to go and ask the questions that you are not sure about and not be labeled.
Thanks again.
YES, TELL ABOUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS.
AND GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLEES YOU
TOMORROW.
KITT
Will keep you in my prayers tomorrow Angel, good luck and stay strong.

TO BE NERVOUS IS NORMAL,PLEASE WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN,AND ASK THIS NEURO TO NOT DISMISS YOU,ASK HIM TO PLEASE HELP YOU FIND THE CAUSE OF YOUR SYMPTOMS AND YOU NEED TO BE A TEAM AND WORK TOGETHER.
YES LET HIM KNOW THAT IMMEDIATED RELATIVES HAVE OR HAD MS,THIS WILL HELP YOU AND YOUR NEURO TO GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
MUCH LITERATURE STATES MS IS NOT HEREDITARY,BUT THERE ARE BOARD MEMBERS WITH SIBLINGS,PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS THAT HAVE MS.
BE POSITIVE AND UPFRONT WITH YOUR NEURO.

Thanks for responding.
I guess I wanted to see if someone else thought it might be worth bring up. I do feel a little better now that I know there is.
thanks again
Angel
Hi, It is normal I think to be nervous. I still am everytime I know I have to go to the neurologist. I think It would be a good idea to tell him everything that might be important. I don't know too much about the connection of relatives having MS, but if you tell the doctor maybe he could explain it to you and ease your mind. Good luck with your appointment.
