I meant to get a post in on this a long time ago ....and then time passed....and I forgot. Are you the person who is dropping all those things that I keep tripping over??
It is never normal for a person to develop a problem with moving the eyes together later on in life. It can happen as a baby when a muscle is just not strong enough. When it happens as a adult, they really have to look for a problem in the brainstem. That is where the three main nerves are that intercommunicate and work to control the eyes, so that they move together and you always see the same thing with both eyes.
I am floored that you would have to wait 4 months or more for an MRI! I strongly suspect that you have MS or a close mimic. Are they running the blood tests to check you out for other deseases that look like MS?
I hope you stay with us and we can help you through this!
Welcome, belatedly to the forum!

I dont think its to do with MS but eye complaints generally go with it, have got my new eyes on what a difference to typing and reading , have a great day :) I think It must of been a promotion for 'Head Glasses' lol someone told me thy are a trendy make , and im to old to appreciate the make lol.
You both taught me something I knew nothing about. Very interesting. This is the first time I have heard of this eye problem. Is it a very common problem and does it have anything to do with MS?
You both could help me to understand more. I learn something new everyday. Oh, I am glad that you got a free pair of glasses. Is that doctor cool or what?
Have a great day, both of you,
Heather
Thanks for reply jenn, yes its much worse with fatigue, especially when trying to read and the eyes jump to many words ahead or missing out a whole passage, bad for working, you comment was helpful thanks :) have good day
A phoria is a latent ocular misalignment held in check by fusion, which is the ability of the eyes to align themselves so that each is seeing the same image. If fusion is broken by covering one eye, the latent deviation becomes revealed, and the covered eye may turn in (esophoria) or turn out (exophoria). Anything that breaks fusion may reveal an underlying phoria, such as fatigue, inattention (daydreaming),bright lights, refractive errors or several other muscle or nerve problems. This problem, if bothersome and not caused by an underlying problem can be helped with glasses that include prism. I have an misalignment, exotropia, a sililar problem. It is worse on the days that I am tired. I have glasses with prism to help.
no lol not a lazy eye, the muscle behind eye kind of shakes makes it hard to read because eye moves to another word to quick, and then have to keep pulling it back. im in Uk. I thought it was a lazy eye too if thats any help. sometimes i can miss out a whole paragraph reading and have to go back to the last word i can remember lol . i did post to the eye forum on this one because of the numbness on face, but loving the free glasses they are only for reading tho lol
