feet/foot issues anyone?

Happy New Year!

On Friday I was driving, ( i drive a stick shift ) and right in the middle of my trip, my left foot locked up.  That is how I can best describe it.  My toes (I think the 3rd and 4th) were spazzing out and there was a lot of pain.  This lasted a good 10 minutes or so.  Fast forward a few hours, my right foot had major cramps.

This is not the first time this has happened to my left foot, I just never gave it much thought until the other day because the pain was off the charts.

Has this happened to anyone?

I go for my LP on 1/21, then to the neuro for a follow up 2/14.  I guess I will add it to my list of strange symptoms.

Thanks in advance for any replies!!!

Maureen

Thanks everyone!

Yes, the LP is on 1/21 at St. Peters University Hospital.  2 weeks from Friday.  I am not so nervous about the procedure, but the after affects, as I have chatted with Shell about!!  SHe gave me good advice and I will be a slug for a couple days after.

In the meantime, I am writing down all my wierdness to bring to my doctor at my follow up visit on Valentines Day.

Suman - your story is so frightening. THank goodness no one was hurt!!!

I will have to be careful when using the clutch with my left foot.  Another reason to tell hubby why I need new car that does not require so much dexterity!!!!!!

Thanks again to everyone.

Hi Maureen,
I get bad foot cramps, too.  I've been having them off and on now for about 4 days or so (usually they're more spaced out than this).  Sometimes, it feels like my toes are trying to pull themselves off and other times it's cramping in the arch area.

And like Jen, I tend to get them more when I'm using my foot.

I hope your LP goes fine next Friday.

I had to give up driving about nine years ago.  At the time, my sons just said I was an awful driver.  One morning I couldn't lift my foot off the gas pedal and took us through an intersection nearly killing us all.  My oldest son ran to a pay phone calling his father who came to the scene.  That was the last day I drove.  I had no idea it was MS but I do today.

Use caution and talk to your doctor.  Maybe there are exercises to help strengthen?  I hope so.  I hate to see someone have to give up their license.  I know it was very hard for me and at times I was angry.  In the end, my husband was smart to say NO because I would have kept trying.

So much more danger in it when driving. Def. jot it down like you mention......

You going to RWJ for the LP? Man time seemed to fly since we chatted last. Can't believe it's almost time.

I get foot cramps, especially if I'm doing something with the foot.  Unfortunately I have so many problems with my legs that it's not safe for me to drive.
