aching instep

It feels like I'm having a muscle cramp in my left foot instep, but it looks normal and no amount of rubbing or massaging helps.

It's been bothering me for a couple days, woke me up one night. It changes in severity throughout the day for no apparent reason, and is never sore enough that I can't walk on it, it's just very iritating.

I think it's probably a parasthesia (sp), another MS symptom I guess.

Anyone else experience sx's like this?

Mike

It's not around the front of my heel Dennis, it has been more like Kelly describes it, in the sole of my foot, although today it seems to ache more forward near the ball of my foot.

Like with you Max, nothing helps.

I take Gabapentin and I wonder if an increase in my dosage would do any good. I may try this if the pain gets any worse.

I have this too.  It comes and goes throughout the day, but it is particularly bad at night.  Although I have never asked about it, I have assumed it was some combination of spasticity, and deconditioning.  It's been going on for close to three years for me.  Nothing really helps.

I have this every day - mostly in my right foot - but I do have it in both feet.  It's not constant; it comes and goes thru-out the day. Mine is in the middle of the sole of my foot where my arch is.  It's always cramping up tight.  Sometimes it's worse depending on the position of my foot.  And sometimes it hurts when I walk.

I was also wondering who else had this symptom, so I'm glad that you asked.  I think mine is from spasticity because I have a lot of spasticity in my legs, hips, pelvic area, & groin area.

Is the pain mostly around the front of your heel? If so it is probably the same problem I have been having for about a month now. It is called Plantner Faiciais which is inflamation of the cord between you toes and heel.

Mine was brought on by cramping in my calf and instep (usually happens at night). I'm suppose to get a night splint for my feet to stop the cramping by keeping the feet flexed.
