horrible leg cramps/pain

Yesterday, I must be in denial wanting to look nice for church, wore a pair of high heel shoes. HA I got maybe a few steps and the pain was awful in my legs especially the sides of my calfs.  When I sat down they were still burning from the pain and took awhile to subside. Boy did I pay for it that night. I woke up with horrendous cramping/tighness in my left leg. My husband attempted to massage it which didnt help at all and only caused it to go into constant spasms. This leads me into a question however, What type of shoes, or inserts are there that can be comfortable and not cause these horrifying symptoms that leave me crying in the middle of the night

There are several of us, myself included, who suffer from horrible spasms and muscle cramps. After a year of solely left sided spasms (with a few blissful "off periods" where I felt better), my right foot joined in over the summer, and my right leg last weekend. I was told by my doc to wear flat, rubber soled shoes, more so because of the balance and coordination problems that I also have. I have on an occasion or two when I felt well snuck on a pair of heels, and paid dearly for it. I don't even try it anymore. While I do not feel the shoes casued the spasms, since I have them regardless of my footwear, I think that they surely do not help the situation.

Wish I could help you more, but just wanted to reinforce what Carol said - comfy beats spasms any day;)

Take care

I'm sorry about your legs cramping.  We all know how that feels.  It's awful.  I wear braces on both legs so I don't have a lot of choices in shoe wear.  I have to wear tennis shoes, usually a good brand such as Nike or Addidas.  They need to be wide enough for my braces.  I wear them with everything.  It may not look that great when I dress up, but as long as I'm comfortable I don't care.

I'll be praying,
Carol
