Silly question -- can having an LP cause a relapse?

Keeping in mind I DON'T have a dx -- it occurred to me early this morning that my current episode (bladder, right leg issues including shocky pain I've never had before) started within a few days of my LP.  Things are resolving now to some extent .. the loss of feeling in my bladder takes a while to come back (this is the second go round with this particular trouble).

I was not stressed about the LP in any way.  It went perfectly normally.  I had about 2.5 weeks of a mild annoying headache above my eyes, but otherwise it was fine.

I am guessing random coincidence?

Thank you :).

Yes, I assumed coincidence.  I just happened to look at my timeline today and thought ... weird :P.

Thanks all!

I think it's coincidence. I had a relapse start within days of seeing my doctor about the weird buzzing in my chin (my first relapse, that led to my diagnosis.)

Residual shock-type feelings in the legs or lumbar region are not unexpected following an LP. Not fun, of course, but not unexpected. Sometimes the cauda equina gets nicked by the needle. That's what caused what you described in me at least. It had nothing to do with my MS.

I've not heard of LP related relapses. As Alex said, you can't rule anything out when it comes to MS (or not MS). I think I'd see it as coincidence.

That is a hard question. Usually LPs do not cause relapses but anything is possible.
