let me clairfiy

I said my dad was infected with this disease, I know its not an infection, but when your 12 years old and watching your father turn to mush in front of your eyes it seems like an infection. I know what infections are and I know its a disease. But the thing is only some of us carry this disease in our bodys apparently. so if i say infected its just the way that I have looked at it all these years. I have been so poed that i cant stand it. Now i am reliving the same issues, numbness, tingling, drop foot, dizziness, heat sensitivity, spams in my arms and legs, some times painful, cant feel my right leg at times, incontince, speech problems, scroters ring( if you dont know what that is its when your throat is closed more then a normal persons throat, Causes you to choke easily) Numbness in the fingers, have severe migrianes, loss of thoughts, cant remember things, drop items that my hand is still in the same postion. eye problems, and yes it has been associated with ms, I can go on but why. I have spinal stenosis like my father had, and neck spurs and the disk disease, they chalk it all up to that. I have had numours shock tests on my legs and arms, there is no blockage there is no reason i should not be feeling my arm or leg. I thought i was having a heart attack a couple months ago. I woke up and couldnt feel the right side of my whole body including my neck and face. Its scared me so bad that my kids had to call 911, My oldest son had to pick me up off the stairs and half carry me. That shouldnt be happening, this isnt spinal stenois or disk diease. I have been living with that for years. but these symptoms keep getting worse. Why dont doctors want to help. I have been through the ringer with tests, now it comes down to the lp tommorow. Why do i need to drink so much water and caffenine the day before the test?

thank you all. Yes i have had numberous mri's and there all clean but i have so many problems my dad did while his last days. I think its so weird that i have more signs of it and problems he had the last couple years, but i dont have lesions, he had 4 years before tiny ones were spotted, and I just dont want this disease, but i want an answer so i can feel better. I just want to stop having so many issues. There are so many but the worst i cant tolerate is the sexual organ disfunction. I hate that. They keep tellng me its because i had to large boys, 10 4 and 10 1 and that is why, I was like that dont cause numbness in that region, Standing i always can sit and usually deal with the leg spams, Those come and go. But the incotinince, the blurry vision, the catarac and detachemnt made me blind in my right eye. The numbness is in my right side of my body, i am scared to drive at times, and i refuse to. But it all is so much to cope with all at once, seems like something new comes when you think its all gone then boom its back and something new. I live in this body and i know something is wrong. Thank you all for all your support and i will let everyone know on my results as soon as they come in. Just hoping for an answer not I dont know. I am being to hate those three little words!

As far as the LP goes, the actual procedure wasn't bad for me. I did have bad back pain after, mostly spasms, but no headaches. My doctor said that using a smaller needle can almost eliminate the spinal headaches that a lot of people talk about. It seemed to work for me. You might want to mention that to your doctor.

I agree with Rena take a few days to lay down and relax...rent some good movies.

Yes and drink a bunch of water after!

Best wishes let me know how it goes.

Hi there...we haven't spoken before but I thought I might be able to help you through this LP a little.

You really don't have to drink too much before the LP...don't want a full bladder to try to control while they are doing it right?  hehe  Actually it's after the LP that you need to drink so much as they remove quite a bit of fluid in your spinal column and you have to replenish that fluid so that you won't have a headache when you stand up.  I am not sure why the caffeine works to alleviate the headache but apparently it helps.  Make sure you have someone to take you home afterward because you will want to try to keep your head below your shoulders by lying down as much as possible.  Even when  you do get home and you have to use the bathroom...walk bent over at the waist and that will stop the pain in your head if you get it.

I was reading your earlier posts this morning and I think that you are most likely on your way to possibly figuring out what this is.  The LP REALLY isn't that bad while it is being done and afterward if you just relax and have someone look after you for a few days so that you don't have to move around to much you will be fine.

I will be looking for your post after the LP as soon as you are able to keep your head up without pain.  I wish you the best of luck and don't worry and don't get all uptight over this...it will be over before you know it and we will keep our fingers crossed that you will get the answers you have been hoping for!

Lots of Hugs,
Rena

You didn't say if you have had a MRI?
If you haven't had one yet I would suggest that you ask your Dr. about scheduling one.

I am sorry you are having so much trouble and Pain. I will keep you in my prayers
