The leasions, numbness, tingling, blind spots can be related to MS.

Although the others are not typical of MS.  Any of these for that matter can represent other illnesses that are gonna have to be ruled out.

Relax and as hard as it may be wait on the results of lumbar puncture and trust the Doctor that u have, he/she sounds like they are doing what they cn as of now!  I know it is scary and the unknown us scarier but in the mean time try some relaxation techniques.

Best of luck and keep us updated if u can!

MRI and LP (spinal tap) are just clues that can lead to a diagnosis of MS.  In the end, MS is a clinical diagnosis.  Please take extra good and special care of yourself.  Worry is a useless, unproductive emotion.  When you find yourself falling into the trap of worry and worst case scenarios, take a big breath and just relax every muscle.  If, as you're exhaling, worrisome thoughts come up again, acknowledge they're there, and go back to breathing, slowly, softly...

You'll have answers sooner or later.  In the mean time, live your life....breath....

There are other reasons to have lesions, other than MS.  High blood pressure can cause severe brain lesions, migraine headaches (which could cause the tingling and vomiting) is known to cause them, and even vitamin B-12 deficiency causes can cause brain lesions.  And there are other reasons besides those.  The blood in your urine is probably unrelated.   You neurologist is being as thorough as he can, as I am sure your other doctors are.  Detached retina sometimes occurs in diabetes, but I'm sure they already tested for that.

Hang in there.  I know you want answers, and they will come.  But testing (as well as interpreting the results) takes time.  I agree with Shell- you should let your doctor know how hard this is for you to deal with.  They can help.

I am really honest with them im on xanex. I agree with you 100 percent about my fears. My neuro made my app 6 months early after my mri and asked me to get a spinal tap to start treating. This scared me then he said you dont no yet so just wait and see. Could there be ms lesions without having ms? Thabk you for the posts

Hi Josh,

While this can be scary, please do not panic. It sounds as if you have. It will not help you get through each day, and has the potential to maximize all you are experiencing.

There are other things that cause  what you are experiencing besides and like Lu mentions what you posted is not consistent with MS. However, I must say MS is a clinical diagnosis, and it's not a death sentence.

A neuro will need to put together many pieces to determine the cause of your problems.
How likely MS? About 1 in 750. Detached retina is unrelated to MS that I'm aware of. This may be hereditary given your age, but your doctor can tell you more about that.

Please be honest with your doctors about your severe fears right now. They can help you.

They use them to weld around the bad part of the eye so it dont spread or detach. Thanks for the post. Im just scared i dont no what to do about all this i thought i was to young to go threw all this. What happens when you have ms all my ms look alike lesions are on the left side also seemed wierd to me. So there is no direct link to the eyes and ms? Thanks again

Josh, I am glad you are being seen by a neurologist to hunt down these problems. There are several things you mention that don't normally fit in the MS picture ...

blood in your urine isn't normally an MS problem.

vomiting also isn't normally an MS symptom. the same can be said about retinal tears.

Can you explain a bit more about the lasers?  I'm not sure what that wsas used for.

see you around,
L
