Hello Supermum, I was diagnosed with MS 10/2011 after 20+ years of being symptomatic. Yes I too have the nausea for a few days about every 2-3 months. I do not take any MS medication, as I am very sensitive to medications and have reactions quickly. I take a prescription form of zantac and this seems to help.I have read that it is a known symptom for MS patients to have flu like symptoms, without have the flu. I often think that the nausea is a reaction from the pain. I personally get extreme perspiration and nausea sometimes with a headache. I plan to post the article, when I find it :-)
Thank you Sarah, I will try those :)
My doctor feels MS can and I keep medications around. It's a hard symptom to pin down as can be caused by many things. We've worked thru the other possibilities leaving only this one. But, that said, different neuro's have different opinions. Fortunately for me, mine tries to understand each of his patients individual s/s and needs.
Much like my previous gyn doctor suggested, sometimes stomach acid builds up overnight and crackers by your bedside taken before you rise, a couple, just to put something in your stomach, helps. It kinda absorbs some of it. In my later years, I resort to homemade ginger tea which can safely sit by my bedside. I am not waving a diet flag, just sharing what has worked for me! My grandfather used a small glass of water with lemon in it. Try experimenting around and I know how you feel! I truly do.
I can't speak to the kind of nausea you describe, I just wanted to wish you luck on the MRI tomorrow. I hope it goes very smoothly and provides you with some solid information you and your doctors can use. All the best!

I'm having MRI tomorrow with contrast of head and whole spine, so hope to get some answers. Like so many others, I have just had enough of all if these strange symptoms and not knowing what's going on. Neurologist suspects MS. I just want to feel healthy again.
Hi there,
As far as I'm aware, nausea is not a recognised sx of MS its self but people with MS can experience nausea when they are dealing with vertigo and there are also some medications that can cause it too.
My daughter funny enough, has been dealing with nausea on waking, as part of her sx list, though she doesn't have MS but has gastric issues, allergies and is deficient in Iron and B12.
I would consider discussing this with your dr, I honestly believe that any sx anyone in limbo experiences, could be the key to finding the cause of their issues.
cheers.......JJ
