numb thumb

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 1/2 yrs ago but have symptoms that are not fibro symptoms. My right ankle has been hurting for 3 mths. It isnt the same kind of hurt as my fibro hurt (if that makes sense). Yesterday afternoon my right thumb went numb and still is. I have had tingling in my fingers for a long time, but this is different. Any ideas? It was originally thought by my pcp that I had ms due to lesions on my brain mri and my symptoms, but the neurologist I saw said that my lesions are not usual ms lesions.

I agree with essdipity, you need a new neurologist

I agree with essdipity.  I would seek out another neurologist.  I would get the copies of your MRI dictated reports and any other documentation such as ER visits, etc.

A new neurologist will, of course, have you bring copies of your MRI films with you to your appointment.

Feel better soon....

Hi, Princess. I think you need a new neurologist. MS lesions don't have to be typical, it's just easier to diagnose if they are. Please read up in our Health Pages for lots of good information.
