Use you own words for the doctor. I asked my doctor if he ever heard of people having zinging and zpping sensations. His response: "ALL the time."

Yes, hitting your funnybone (as at least some of us on the West Coast call it)--except somewhere else in your body--is how I've described some of the weird nerve sensations I've had.
Others I've had include zaps of pain like a bolt of lightning running down the front of my thigh or below my ear; and spots in my feet, groin, ribcage, elbow, and hand where I get shocks like static electricity.
Describe it however it feels to you. That is the best way to convey it accurately to your doctor or anyone else.
