small lesions

I have had MS like symptoms for about 2 years now. At first they were very subtle-a little numbness, left leg weakness, etc.  However, over the last 2 months, I have been experiencing balance problems, eye pain and blurriness, weakness in body, particulary my hands, spasms in my face, severe reaction to heat and cognitive problems.  I went for an MRI with contrast and it showed 2 small lesions. The neurologist said these were too small to be indicitive of MS.  My question-is it possible to have progressive MS symptoms but small lesions?

Hi,it is terrible not knowing with such symptoms .Ihave the same symptoms that you do and the MRI showed a couple of small leisons, although was told not in correct area for MS, it is depressing as I want to know what is causing all of my MS like symptoms!! Best of luck to you, and Gabapentin helps.

Hi Ma222,

Welcome.  I'm sorry you are having such troubles.  Did the Dr. suggest any other possible causes?

Since the Dr. doesn't think the lesions are MS like, you more than likely don't have to worry about progressive MS.

Wishing you better days and hope you find the source of the issues.

If you have a chance, we have great health pages (upper right hand corner of the page) that offer lots of info on the disease.

Have you had an MRI of your spine?  Often MS manifests in the spine rather than the brain.
