describe it ,is it starts up inside my right rib moves across my stomach to my left rib ,

It feels like( this is going to sound mad)a snake slithering across  going up and down .

I had this same sensation for about 3 months and finally had to go to the doc because it became so distracting.  I also had a large oblong knot at the base of my rib cage on the left side of my back.  After some xrays my doc said that I had a kink in my colon on the left side which had caused bowel to back up in the colon area across the top of my stomach.  It was so bad that the "knot" on my back was actualy my ribs being displaced from the "backup."  I was still having normal bowel movements so I never considered that I was seriously constipated.  Doc's diagnosis was to take benefiber daily but to start with 3tbls of mike of magnesia daily for a week and I was also prescribed dicyclomine 20 mgs.  3x a day.  Doc said that I had a least 10lbs of bowel backed up.  My only symptom was the strange fluttering -crawling sensation which was explained as my colon trying to spasm but could not fully because of the problem.  Hope this helps.

I've been having the same thing for about 3 weeks. It's really making me think something is wrong. So I started researching. You answer is the most reasonable. Thank you. I'll be calling my doctor.

In my rib pain post, I mentioned a "rolling twitch" in my left side . . . I think we are talking about the same type of sensation.  Relaying this type of symptom to the doc is always interesting.  I'm never quite sure how to describe some of these oddities : )

My first symptom that I can recall was a waist creepy-crawley.  It was like I had my cell phone clipped to my waistband and it was ringing on vibrate, but I didn't even have it with me.

Do you have TMJ and fibromyalgia, by any chance?

Yup, have had that sensation on and off for years. Not painful, just distracting. Sometimes feels like bugs crawling, or fluttering across the skin.

I have had this feeling, but I would describe it as a creepy, crawling sensation.  I have alot of sensory symptoms in my course of MS, so I am never surprised when I get one of these sensations anywhere in my body.  If I told everyone everything I actually feel and where, they would probably put me in a straight jacket.

So yes, I totally understand this feeling you are having.  This was in fact one of my first symptoms, including total numbness in my right torso, that made me seek out a Neurologist, in the first place.
