Hi and welcome,

Pardon my confusion but i can't work out why you think there maybe something abnormal happening.

You don't have any feeling of weakness when you first stand up, you don't have any feeling of weakness through out the day and night. Your day long activity and usage of your legs, isn't generating the feeling of weakness at all.

Which leaves you with the only time you have feelings of weakness, is in the moments of waking and before you start moving to get up. The simple explanation is that you are not yet fully conscious, still partially in sleep mode but when you stand up your brain has to get into gear and then everything feels perfectly normal.

Cheers........JJ

I often wake up with numbness/ weakness in my left leg.  It used to be my lower leg, now it's most of my leg.  I don't think there is anything much you can do about it but I find the more I walk around, the faster it returns to normal.
