pda - clamps-preemie

my son had his pda clamped at 2 weeks old. he weighed 2.13 lbs. he is now 7. if an emergency happened, could he be harmed by the paddles and shock in an er?

A PDA ligation (clamping) will not affect your son's cardiac response to any form of resuscitation, including cardioversion (electrical current applied to the heart).  If he does not have other structural heart disease, he is not at higher risk than anyone else for cardiac rhythm abnormalities just because he needed to have his PDA ligated.
