PTSD or Seizures - Is there help?

He was hit in a head during a fight we had.

He was in a car accident 4 years ago - the result is a titanium plate in his forehead and cheek - he has no recollection of the accident because he was asleep. He had no PTSD related to the accident.

A year later, he has been having flashbacks & nightmares. They intensify the days he sees me.
We could be happier than ever - and he can't sleep at night.

We can't even have a tiny tiff or he gets super upset, then after yelling - he seizes. If we're both sad, he seizes. If we're intimate, he seizes.

When I mean seizes, he gets a blank stare and becomes incoherent.  I try to wake him up. When he comes back, he can not recall our arguments and complains his head hurts.

I sound like a criminal, but I am a victim of abuse for many years before I met my bf. This isn't an excuse for my action, but within 1 min I screwed up our entire existence.

I wish someone could tell me how to make him better - he is the love of my life.

EMDR therapy has not helped.

PTSD or Complex Partial Seizures

- if we fight, he becomes someone else - passes out - becomes himself again
- When he's sleeping and talks to me - he won't acknowledge my name, talks about me in 3rd person, & will talk to me if I give him a pseudoname
- Nightmares and Flashbacks
- EMDR doesn't work - DID could be the reason why.
- He blanks out - staring into space - for  >5 minutes where:
*He will make repetitive motions
*He will repeat a phrase
*He has called me, texted me, lit a cigarette, walked, has had sex, pointed at me, tried to ram his forehead into mine - all while in sleep
- When he has passed out - he has wandered from work a couple times home and when he has awoke - he does not recall the entire day spent at work
- Emotional stress triggers them along with my presence - yet he wouldn't know if he had them if I wasn't there to tell him

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

Thanks for your help.

I realize the symptoms of PTSD, but how are his blackout spells which includes gaps of amnesia and abnormal behavior in his asleep and while in these states completely PTSD? Can seizures be signs of PTSD when they last for minutes upon minutes and his consciousness is altered.

Apparently, there has been a shift in his titanium plate which caused his skull to crack. Could that have anything to do with these seizure like states?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dear Schmooblee,
This surely appears to be a PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder).
The major criteria of the same are -
1) History of a traumatic event.
2) Persistant nightmares/repetition.
3) Fear of the episode.
4) Duration > 1 month of the symptoms.
All these points towards the PTSD.

Stress management, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, nd other types of Psycotherapy will be able to help you as well as him out.
More than a neurologist, a psychologist will be of a big help. So i would request you to fix an appointment with a good psychologist/psychotherapist.
Regards
