Yes from what has been noted there is a potential for Depakoate (and other anti-convulsants of a certain class) to cause or worsen mood changes as an adverse side effect. They could also not be treating what they are intended to. Or they could be interacting with other medications that are prescribed (if there are any). The most important thing is whether the changes you are describing started or worsened specifically when the Depakoate was started or during that time or occurred before then. You can find out the specific information in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) or the medication website and discuss this with the treating doctor or psychiatrist. Don't make any changes on your own but ask them what the best course of action is and they can then adjust and/or change the medications as appropriate within their professional discretion.
