After a TIA

About a week and a half ago i had numbness to the left side of my face.  It lasted for about ten seconds before it went away but the slightest vision change stayed along with tingling in my cheeks.  i had a ct scan, ultra sound on my corotid artety.  All came up clear.  four days later i woke up in the middle of the night with my whole body vibrating.  i managed to get back to sleep after a couple of hours but the next day i still felt little vibrations in my arms and legs.  i went back to emergency and they checked with another ct and came up clear.  since then i have these issues at nightime.  Also i get a sense of numbeness that goes up my neck into my head.  Is this just anxiety or should i be a little more concerned

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

I do not know your stroke risk factors, but your symptoms are atypical for stroke as it does not fit a typical distribution, however it does not necessarily mean you didn't have a stroke.  If the stroke is very small, it may not show up on a CT scan.  In these cases, an MRI is usually better.

The episode of Left facial numbness is the most worrisome of the episodes.  I'm not sure about the other episodes, but either way, to formally say you did not have a stroke, would be to have an MRI if possible (no metal in your body).

I hope this helped.
