Alice in Wonderland Syndrome

I have had symptoms of Alice in Wonderland Syndrome since late Aug. It started out as macropsia and now it is micropsia. I have it ALL the time and things keep getting smaller and smaller. I have had normal EEG, MRI, opthalmological exam. I jusr had a MRA and am awaiting results. I have been seen by two neurologists and have tried anti-seizure, & migraine medications, nothing has helped. I have tried to research but I have come up empty handed. I am losing my mind, having panic attacks, and can't get into see any specialist for over a month.

I have been having AIW symptoms for a year now and have had every test you can have and still nothing...the only thing worse than feeling like this is ..having 10 doctors tell you how freaking healthy you are while you feel like this. My heart goes out to you. If you need to talk let me know

Hi june,
All my sympathies go to you. I can understand what you would be feeling, even while reading this post.
AWS is a condition characterized by distorted perception of space and size. Usually AWS can occur as a symptom of migraine, epilepsy, acute fever (febrile states), schizophrenia, Epstein-Barr viral infection, infectious mononucleosis (glandular fever), or as a result of ingesting hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD and marijuana.
There is no treatment for AIWS itself, the strategy is to treat the migraine or other brain disorder and hope that helps.
