With this coronavirus outbreak, I am worried I could be in the high-risk group. I am a 20 year old female with no preexisting conditions other than that I had hydrocephalus as a baby. I haven’t had it ever since my surgery when I was 1 years old (woohoo!), but I have an anomaly of a fluid filled cyst on top of my brain in which according to my neurologist, it is not considered as hydrocephalus since it’s not in any important “hallways” of my brain and isn’t causing me to have symptoms. With the coronavirus, am I a high-risk person if I had hydrocephalus in the past and still have my shunt? and would I be in the high-risk group especially with having very minor dementia due to either the hydrocephalus or the surgery? (It’s uncertain which one triggered the minor dementia) I remember to wash my hands and not touch my face, so my minor dementia is not that bad. I’m just concerned if I should be taking more precautions other than staying at home, not touching my face, and washing my hands if I go out to the store. But am I at some sort of risk? If anyone has any information from a medical website that would be great if that can be provided if they have the answer to that.
