Arachnoid Adhesions

Multiple arachnoid adhesions were found during a craniotomy and removed, to excise IAC schwannoma.  After successful surgery, doctors never mentioned these adhesions.  I am very curious as to what they are, what causes them, and will they return?

No, can't say I remember any infections.  For many years up until time of surgery my health was good with one bout of "walking pneumonia" 14 years before surgery.  I have not had any fevers or colds, I did have many years of unexplained anaphylactic type reactions where my throat would swell and couldn't breathe.  Seemed to happen after insect stings, but without redness or swelling at sight, food, strong odor related also.  Always diagnosed as anxiety though, but since tumor removal I have not had any of these symptoms come back so attribute these allergic moments to the tumor (by me).  Something strange and never explained though as a child and this carried through to adulthood I would have attacks of leg and bladder weakness, head pressure with deja vu feelings during these episodes.  Was thought to be epilipsey, but tests as a child came up negative.  These left me after surgery too.  Is the arachnoid same as pontine fossa, where, according to report is the location .

Hello.

Adhesions formed in the arachnoid are suggestive of inflammation of the arachnoid membrane. It is also referred to as Adhesive arachnoiditis.

The inflammation could be a part of some infection. Do you remember any central nervous system infection in the past?
