I have been experiencing the same symptoms you described for the past month and a half, I also had a encounter with someone whom I am now concerned about their health status. He never reveiled to me until recently that he gets coldsores and had a bad bout with Shingles two years ago, He's only 27. I have been experiencing increased urination, feelings of fatigue, burning sensations and white spots on my lips. I have gone to see many doctors and have undergone a battery of test, Herpes 1 &2 HIV, Clym, the whole nine yards, All negative. The doctors only diagnosis I may be having increased anxiety due to being worried about being sick. I saw a dermotologist and she said the white spots on my lip are caused by sun damage, but I never had these symptoms until a month ago, And I I've always been careful about how much sun exposure I get, It has been very fustrating for me because I know my body has been functioning very different. If you have any feed back or have found any additional information on this please let me know...
I am also having very similar problems and would love to know if there have been any answers for the other people listed.
I have been tested for many, many things that all come up that I am fit as a fiddle and yet I have burning sensations at extreme levels in my crotch, anus, and stomach. In the past I have felt the same burning on almost every part of my body. I have experienced skin deterioration as if the top several layers of skin were missing. ( sticky ) At one point I stopped working due to excessive heat and burning that made it just about impossible to keep a pair of pants on. Over a year later, bankrupt and burning up, I am still trying to diagnose this thing.
Where can someone get real help? We may all have some new STD that five years from now will have a name. Until then, are we all screwed. Someone should research all three of us since I can tell you this condition is miserable and a leap of a bridge would be a relief.

I have had the same problems with an almost identical incident which started it off. Have you been able to find any answers? I have been told that I am suffering from anxiety and am just focusing on the incident which is causing the problem. Can you help?
The symptoms you are experiencing seem quite similar to those that I have been experiencing . . . except for the Burning Eyes . . . I am 27 year old male who, prior to April 2001 was full of life. At this point, I am trying to figure out what is wrong with me . . .
In April, I did something pretty similar to what you did along the girl lines, being with someone I should not have been with, which I have learned to deal with . . . except that the vaginal intercourse was protected . . . I also received oral sex (which was not protected), but she had no sores on her mouth . . . A couple days following the episode, I found myself going to the bathroom some 14 times . . . after two days of it, i went to the emergency room . . . and was told that it was not an STD after numerous tests, but that it was some form of urinary tract infection . . . little did i know that urinary tract infection diagnoses in the emergency room occur about as often as any urinary tract symptoms are complained of (kind of a cover your a#@ diagnosis) . . .
I took the 3 days of medication i was given, and started to urinate less . . . let me also state that in my life prior to April, I urinated twice a day, sometimes 3 times . . . rarely if ever more than that . . . so 14 times was clearly not the norm . . .
Three weeks later, I received a phone call from the girl's boyfriend (supposedly) that she had HSV II, and basically that is when the tingling sensations in the scrotum began . . . subsequent tests by 7 doctors have shown no bacterial STDs, no HIV, Hepatitis or HSV II . . . When I asked her directly, she said she didn't have anything . . . but I most certainly wonder how he would get my phone number . . . All my life I have had cold sores, so testing positive for HSV I did not alarm me much . . . however, I was told that HSV I can impact the genitals in the same manner as HSV II (some 15-30% of the cases) . . . that being said, I have never had one lesion, or anything resembling anything of a herpetic nature . . . therefore, there is nothing that can be cultured . . .
After seeing a Urologist who thoroughly gave me a once, twice and three times over, he said he could not totally rule out HSV, but that the symptoms were more in line with Prostatitis . . .
I am a very educated individual, and read constantly on a variety of topics . . . but it seems my obsession with finding out information about what is causing my problem seems to have overtaken me . . . I truly believe a little information is dangerous, and certainly a lot of it is downright crazy . . .
The only symptoms I have are a tingling whenever (it seems) my pelvic floor is contracted (laymen's terms: anus squeezed) which causes a tingling sensation for a couple seconds (seems like a stiff wind from the North) which has persisted for almost 4 months (which leads me to believe that it is not herpetic in nature as that type of tingling last for 8-72 hours and is then followed by an outbreak) and is possibly musculo-skeletal . . . and frequent urination as I have an enlarged prostate . . . At one point, I felt a slight uncomfortable (possibly a burning) sensation in my genital area but that sensation has long been gone and not returned . . .
Any ideas here? Has your doctor diagnosed you with outright Prostatitis? I amat my wit's end, and have learned to deal with it, but certainly would appreciate any help anyone could give me in finding, if not a resolution, then surely a definite diagnosis . . . .
Hi,
I was reading along here and happened upon your entry. I'm not a doctor, but it sounds a lot like Reiter's Syndrome. It is mostly caused by Clamydia and is more common in men. The symptoms are similar to what you described, especially the eye discharge, which is one of the main symptoms (besides joint pain later on). The eyes can be Conjunctivitis or Uvietis (Uvietis will cause the eyes to be photo-sensitive). It can also cause rashes, mouth sores, gential sores, arthritis, urinary tract symptoms. It is an infectious form of arthritis (like Lyme Disease). It can be treated with antbiotic early on, so I would see a doctor to get a test for Clamydia one more time. The anxiety you are experiencing could be related, but I think you're very, very worried (and with good reason). Write your symptoms down and bring it with you to your Doctor, along with information about Reiter's Syndrome. It may not turn out to be RS, but a least you'll rule it out.
For more information about RS, go to the web site: http://www.nih.gov/niams/healthinfo/reiters.htm
Hope this helps,
RC
If you suspect a food allergy, you may have a condition called mastocytosis, in which you have too many allergy cells and they release all this inflammatory junk in your bloodtream causing all sorts of problems. See an allergist/immunologist for blood tryptase testing as well as urine histamine. There are some other possible casues like pheochromocytoma and carconoid syndrome that can mimic and be aggravated by allergy.
Infectious Disease? Your much too gentle....
What you did, unprotected sex happens, so acccept your misjudgement and FORGIVE yourself!!! This is not something your going to hear in a psych class. Yes the mind is powerful, obviously you haven't given it it's rightful due,and no this is not absurd it's just a show of the power of the mind and what can be created. I think with the training you may have this is obvious to you now, so seek the help of a professional and clear up this part of your past, eat right and your body will do what it already knows how to do.....be healthy!
I did forget to mention that I am 25years old, if that helps.
Dear Macdost:
I am not sure I can help you. The problem seems to be in the realm of an infectious disease person. Since your ex-girlfriend tested negative for the common STD's it is doubtful that you have contracted some STD that is causing your problems. But, then again, are you sure she was tested? At least your testing has come back negative. This would say that you do not have one of these STD. If you had another type of bacterial infection you would be much sicker. If it was viral, you might be experiencing symptoms but they would not usually last as long as you have had your symptoms. HIV usually takes alaittle longer to manifest itself after unprotected sex. A repeated test might be useful in a few more months. It doesn't sound like it is neurological in etiology. I do hope you find the cause and I am sorry that I am not much help.
Sincerely,
CCF Neuro MD
