Can someone relate?

I have had 5 major spine surgries in the past year. It turns out after being fused from my neck bone to my tail bone they are considered failed surgries. I had to have a implanted pain pump for my legs do to nerve damage that will never get better. I got an infection my painpump site got large as a watermelon , they did major surgery I was in the hospital for over a week came home with in house nursing.  Several months later they put the pain pump on  my left side this time and filled the pump with didaudid, this medication did not work so they tried fentanyl, got 50% releaf. After 3 months fentanyl is not working. Lower back and leg pain. My feet hurt so bad, the sting is like I have 100's and 100's of bees stinginng me. 4 days ago they changed my medication to fentanyyl mixed with bupivacaine. Last night the sting was so bad and when I got up around 3:00am I took a bad fall. Please I am asking everyone to please give me your imput on what to do next. I can't take this pain much longer. wavedreamerzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi.

I'm sorry to learn what happened and all of the pain that you are currently experiencing.  I believe that your doctors are doing all they can to come up with the right dose and concoction of pain medications.

Other options would include transdermal preparations such as a Fentanyl patch, and this can be combined with other medications through the pain pump.  Nerve medications such as gabapentin or pregabalin may also act as an adjunct to your pain medications.  For some with very severe intractable pain, they would opt for alternative remedies such as that of accupressure or accupuncture but I suggest you discuss these options first with your doctors.
